It’s not always a cold or a little tired. A pressure or feeling of a vice in the chest, which sometimes radiates to the left arm, jaw or stomach, can be a sign of a heart problem. If this pain sets in, especially at rest, you should not wait: it could be the beginning of a heart attack.
Pain between the shoulder blades or in the lower back
It is often attributed to poor posture, a worn mattress, or a wrong movement. However, sharp pain between the shoulder blades can also be linked to aortic dissection, cardiovascular emergency, or even certain cancers. It’s best to talk to a doctor quickly, especially if the pain is new or getting worse.
Persistent abdominal pain
The stomach is our second brain. Abdominal pain that does not go away, especially if it is accompanied by fever, nausea, or swelling, can hide appendicitis, inflammation of the pancreas or a problem with the gallbladder. In this case, it is better to consult without delay: every hour counts.
Calf pain with swelling
A painful, red, hot, and swollen calf? It doesn’t have to be a simple bruise or cramp. This can be a sign of deep vein thrombosis, a clot that forms in a vein. If this clot travels up to the lungs, it can cause a pulmonary embolism. A simple Doppler examination can remove the doubt.
A burning or numbness sensation in the legs or feet
Do you feel tingling, burning, or numbness in your feet or legs? This may be related to neuropathy, which is often associated with diabetes. If these sensations are accompanied by intense thirst, fatigue or frequent urination, a blood test can reveal an imbalance in blood sugar levels that should be monitored closely.
