Why do my hands go numb? The most common causes

Who hasn't ever felt a "numb" hand , almost as if it no longer belonged to them? This can happen simply by sleeping in an awkward position or resting on your arm for too long. Don't worry : in these cases, everything returns to normal within a few minutes.
But when this happens often, several times a week, without any obvious reason… it may be a sign that your body is sending you a little reminder.
Here are the most common causes to be aware of:
- Prolonged poor posture : in bed, in front of the computer, or using your phone while lying down , can compress a nerve without you realizing it.
- Repetitive movements : DIY, sewing, keyboard… anything that puts a lot of strain on the wrists can tire the nerves.
- Stress and nervous tension : anxiety influences circulation and bodily sensitivity.
- Fatigue or vitamin deficiencies : in particular B vitamins , essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system.
