The problem with avocados arises when they are consumed in addition to everything else. As with any food, too much of it can throw the whole thing off balance.
The trick is to use it as a substitute, not as a regular addition. A quarter to half an avocado a day is more than enough to reap its benefits. For example:
- on a slice of bread, instead of butter,
- in a salad, to replace a sauce that is too rich,
- blended into a sandwich or wrap to add softness without being heavy.
These simple adjustments often make all the difference.
Much more than just a source of fat
Reducing avocados to their fat content would be an oversimplification. They are also packed with nutrients that are beneficial for everyday life: fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
This is what makes it a complete food, capable of supporting energy, digestive comfort, and even skin radiance. When you're mindful of your diet, it's sometimes better to consume a slightly higher-calorie but nutritious food than a low-calorie product with no real nutritional value.
