When I met Elise, she was already a mother to a little girl, Chloé. The biological father had disappeared before the birth, leaving Elise to manage everything alone. But very quickly, a strong bond developed between me and the little girl.
I taught him to ride a bike, I built him a tree house, I attended school plays, I comforted him during his sorrows and celebrated his victories. Without really realizing it, I had become his surrogate father.
